NCHS Donates To St. Theresa’s Hospital

The Director of the National Catholic Health Service (NCHS), Mr. George Adjei, Esq, paid a working visit to St. Theresa’s Hospital in the Catholic Diocese of Techiman and made a donation of one MTTS Firefly Phototherapy Machine to the Diocesan Health Directorate, this machine is meant for the Neonatal Care Unit (NICU) of the St. Theresa’s hospital. The machine is designed for the treatment of neonatal jaundice.

Present at the ceremony were the Very Rev. Fr. Dr. John Kofi Takyi, Vicar General and Diocesan Health Service Board Chair, Hospital Management Team members, Heads of Departments and a cross-section of the Hospital’s staff.

In his presentation, the NCHS Director disclosed that the said medical equipment which is worth Twenty-Five Thousand Cedis (₵25,000.00) was donated to the NCHS directorate by the Health Supplies Limited to augment and support neonatal health care in Ghana. St. Theresa’s Hospital, Nkoranza, was selected as part of the efforts of the NCHS to address the several challenges facing the Catholic Health facilities in Ghana.

Receiving the item on behalf of the Bishop and the Hospital Management, the Vicar General and Board Chairman, V. Rev. John Kofi Takyi, thanked the NCHS Directorate for the good work done, especially for the donation. He also expressed sincere appreciation to Health Supplies Limited for their selfless donation and prayed for the success of the work their hands. He charged the staff of the pediatric department of the hospital to respect the spirit of the donors’ intention and maintain the machine for effective use.
